This electronic procurement and tendering web portal has been designed to improve the speed and efficiency for both Council and our suppliers.
Council will place notifications and receive responses to RFQs, RFTs and EOIs electronically through this tendering portal.
What are the benefits for suppliers?
- Convenience: After registration, suppliers will receive email notifications when new procurement opportunities are published. Suppliers will be able to download documents instantly, online.
- Cost Savings: Suppliers’ responses will be electronically uploaded into electronic tender boxes, thus removing printing, courier and delivery costs.
- Security: Suppliers may no longer miss a tendering opportunity that is important to their business.
- Environmental Friendly: Eliminating the need to print documents will reduce suppliers’ environmental footprint.
What are the costs to suppliers?
None. Suppliers will be able to receive and respond to notifications posted by Alice Springs Town Council at no cost.
What are the benefits for Council?
- Ease of communication: Council will be able to reduce advertising expenditure, as registered suppliers will be immediately notified via email when new tender opportunities are available.
- Tendering cycle time: This system speeds up the tendering cycle and reduces the time, effort and costs for both Council and our suppliers.
- Audit trail: The system provides a full audit trail by recording who downloaded quotation/tender documents, provides AN electronic footprint of all related matters including addendums and questions and answers provided by Council to suppliers and records the time that responses are received, eliminating the receipt of late response submissions.
How does the system work?
The online tendering system caters for the issue of selected tendering, public tendering and open advertised tendering for the supply of goods and services. It is generally intended for purchases over $100,000 (including GST) when formal documentation is required to be used. However, some purchases under this value may also be appropriate for inclusion in the system.
How do I start using the system?
To use this system and to access the tenders being called by Alice Springs Town Council, you must first be a registered user. To register, click on the registration link above.
Once confirmed as a registered provider, you:
- will receive email notifications when new procurement opportunities are published in relevant categories;
- can download and view procurement documentation electronically;
- will be able to submit applications online through the tendering portal.
Council staff and suppliers of goods and services to Council are required to conduct their activities in accordance with Policy 219: Procurement of Goods and Services – Quotations and Tenders
